This four days course allows attendees to benefit from DNV GL’s extensive experience of power performance test according to the international guidelines IEC 61400-12-1 (ed.1) and IEC 61400-12-2 (ed.1). 

Additional information 

Expectations of power performance test are defined and negotiated before financial close of a project in order to minimize financial risk. The turbine supplier will usually provide a guarantee of power curve level. Performance verification procedures and power curve warranties are defined in the turbine supply contracts. After wind farm commissioning, the verification test is used to demonstrate that the turbine’s performance is within the acceptance level and to quantify the uncertainties. The test can also be carried out during the wind farm operation in order to follow and quantify the performance of the wind turbines. The course will explain typical approaches, including those defined in the IEC 61400-12-1 (ed.1) and IEC 61400-12-2 (ed.1) standards. 

The course also includes live and interactive exercises in order to apply the different guidelines requirements. 

On completion, delegates should understand the key of the power performance test according to both guidelines, the field implementation of the measurements, the most significant factors affecting the uncertainties calculation, the impact in the Annual Energy Production (AEP) in case of power curve optimization and how the measured power curve is compared with the warranted power curve.
