The training will enable the participants to independently carry out incident investigations for various types of events from slips, trips and falls to process safety related incidents and for different degrees of severity. Nevertheless, the focus is on serious incidents and incidents with high risk potential. The training will introduce the SCAT (Systematic Causal Analysis Technique) and BSCAT (Barrier-based Systematic Causal Analysis Technique) methodology developed by DNV GL and the course will be conducted by experienced Incident investigation experts from DNV GL Oil & Gas Germany.

The entire investigation process is run through during the training and the theory is made tangible using an adequate example. Nevertheless, the main intention of the example is to demonstrate the application of the methodology, which can be easily transferred to other industries, e.g. maritime, oil & gas, energy etc. The SCAT and BSCAT methodologies are widely used across different industries.
